Two New Board Members for Global Integrity – Welcome Abdoulie and Molly!

We’re delighted to be able to introduce Global Integrity’s two newly appointed directors, Molly Elgin-Cossart and Abdoulie Janneh. We’re excited and honored that they have chosen to invest their time and energy in helping us to support progress toward open and accountable governance in countries and communities around the world.

Molly is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington DC, where she develops policy ideas and conducts analysis on issues involving foreign policy, international development, and global conflict. Previously, Molly served as Chief of Staff to the UN Secretary General’s High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda; and led the work of New York University’s Center on International Cooperation on governance and development. She has extensive experience working with multilateral organizations, development agencies, and non-for-profits and research centers around the world.

Abdoulie leads the work of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation—our partner for our Africa Integrity Indicators project—on government engagement, and is a member of the Foundation’s Board. Currently based in Dakar, Senegal, Abdoulie has huge experience as regards governance, poverty eradication and crisis prevention in Africa. Abdoulie previously served as Executive Secretary at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and as Regional Director for Africa with the United Nations Development Programme.

 

 

We are excited about the experience, enthusiasm, commitment and creativity that Molly and Abdoulie bring to the table and look forward to working closely with them over the months and years to come.
